Dr. Ward, a Columbia native, attended the University of Richmond for her undergraduate degree where she completed a BS in Biology. She also competed on her collegiate Division I swim team for the four years she attended the University of Richmond. Immediately finishing college, she started dental school at MUSC. There she met her husband, and they married after she finished dental school. Dr. Ward practiced as a general dentist for a few years at Children’s Dentistry of Charleston. There she worked in tandem as an Associate with Dr. George Deussing. After working in the practice for a few years, she realized she wanted to pursue her real passion of exclusively working with children by obtaining the specialist degree as a pediatric dentist. She then completed a two year residency program at Miami Children’s Hospital. She received specialized training in pediatric dentistry, sedation dentistry and working with children and adults special health care needs. After completion of her residency, she returned to Charleston and joined back with Children’s Dentistry. Dr. Ward is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
In her free time, Dr. Ward enjoys doing anything outdoors, but especially activities on the water, such as boating, fishing, and diving. She also loves spending time with her three children, Isabella, Jackson, Fisher, and her husband, Jason.
