ABOUT DR. CARA

Pediatric Dentist - Charleston, S.C.

Cara DeLeon is a native of Augusta, Georgia. She and her family had the opportunity to live in many interesting cities/country growing up, including Alaska and Germany, while her father, an orthodontist, served in the military.

Dr. Cara attended the University of Georgia where she received a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics.  After college she completed dental school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.  During her time at Medical College of Georgia Dr Cara was involved in the Student Dental Association serving as President in her junior year.  She was awarded the International College of Dentists Leadership Award, Georgia Dental Association Outstanding Leader Award, Public Health Award and inducted into the service based honor society, Alpha Upsilon Phi.   

Dr. Isabel and Dr. Cara served as co-residents at the University of Louisville, Pediatric Dental residency program.  After Dr. Isabel graduated from the specialty training program, Dr. Cara took over duties as chief resident. 

Some of Dr. Cara’s favorite things include: her miniature schnauzer, Bentley; kayaking; Georgia football; Spanish moss and cobblestone roads.
